The Connection — Atlanta to DC
When the doors opened on our Washington, D.C. location, we didn’t just open a new club — we brought our people with us. Members chartered a flight from Atlanta to DC to be there for it, turning a ribbon-cutting into a homecoming for a community that had outgrown one city.
“We are so honored to be able to share this moment with you. I can’t tell you just how long we have been waiting to do this together,” said Co-Founder Ryan Wilson. Co-Founder TK Petersen called it “a humbling and awe-inspiring experience… a dream come true” to see Atlanta and DC members in the same room, celebrating what the community had become.
The night drew DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, who noted the club’s roots go back to Wilson and Petersen’s time together at Georgetown — and Atlanta City Councilmember Andre Dickens, who put it simply: “Black excellence was seated next to each other and dripped off the chartered plane into the DC Gathering Spot.”
Two cities, one community… and the start of what The Gathering Spot would become across the country.
