Meet Shante.

Shante Walker is the Founder & CEO of The Niles Foundation, a 501c3 Non-Profit and community-based organization created in 2019 to build equity and equality for Los Angeles. Shante is native to South Los Angeles and has studied Computer Science, Music Education, Business, Liberal Arts, and Psychology, obtaining her third degree a Master’s in Psychology of Leadership with a concentration in OL&D (Organizational Leadership & Development), Diversity and Inclusion, & Employee and Staff Management from Penn State University.

Shante has created numerous programs through her local nonprofit like Yard to Farm (increases Food Access & Greening), #SouthLAGreenFoodLand Project (Increases Clean Environments, Agriculture, and Land) made possible by Sony Music, and The Halo Food Project one of the first full retail mobile grocery stores made possible by USDA and RFI, (which sources high quality fresh foods from BIPOC and Women farmers-direct to our retail store) and uses clean energy for South LA which launches in June.

Shante is a Penn State Alumni, (Blue & White Society) Alumni, ASCAP (Association of Songwriters, Composers and Performers), and the US Black Chamber of Commerce member. In addition, she has built numerous local farms, gardens, rooftop gardens, a new LA park, acquired acres of land for future community development and facilities, bringing Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing to South LA, and green tech Jobs for our youth.

Shante is not all business; she loves a good laugh, a great drink, exceptional events and creating innovation centered around BIPOC advancement.
