WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TGS?

The community and of course the Nonprofit Circle.

when you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I couldn’t wait to be a Fly Grown Black Woman like my aunt. She took care of her business and looked fly while doing it. I had no idea what field of work I wanted to be in to achieve this, but I knew I wanted to be a fly, grown Black woman who took care of her business.

If you could have dinner with 3 people, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

Three people I would love to break bread with… Marianna W. Davis, author of Contributions of Black Women to America Vol. 1 & 2. She created and successfully executed a national research project solely about Black women. She has inspired me and continues to as what is possible for us. Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, because if you ever read his book, you would know that everyone should think like him. Lastly, marketing genius George Lois, because he’s THEE George Lois!

What is one piece of advice you would share with your younger self?

You have purpose, bigger than anything you could have ever imagined. Never stop dreaming. Never stop working toward and for your dreams. You matter. You are worthy. You deserve it all.
