DC Community Board, President Candidate

Meet Aaron.

As a Founding Member of TGS DC, Aaron desires to leverage his passions for community building and social impact to improve the overall member experience by providing greater transparency, fun but effective ideas and a broader vision on how TGS can engage with local neighboring communities.

Professionally, Aaron has experience spanning technology, government and education from both the private and non-profit sectors. Prior to working within strategy and operations at a $110 million Series A funded tech startup, Aaron worked within the Technology Development Platform (TDP) capability sector within Accenture Federal Services (consulting) after working at the United Negro College Fund’s (UNCF) Fund II Foundation-UNCF-STEM Scholars program and UNCF HBCU Innovation Summit. With over $48+ million dollars in philanthropic funding, these two programs support college-bound black and HBCU students seeking STEM career pathways.

Locally, Aaron finds avenues for partnership. Under LightPoint DC, he helped launch the “We Strive Together” summit, an annual financial planning and professional development symposium centered around education, health and financial fitness. In partnership with over 20 local businesses, representatives from public and corporate entities, and workshop instructors; this annual symposium effort has reached 400+ people in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Aaron is a co-founder of the Invisible Men Summer Experience Grant Program, which provides $10,000 annually in funds for social impact internship opportunities for students of color enrolled at his Alma Mater, Wesleyan University (CT), where he earned his B.A. Aaron enjoys podcasts, debating politics, playing basketball and entertaining “barbershop” G.O.A.T conversations about music and sports.
